Transport Print

Once the CO2 is captured, it can be compressed and transported via pipelines or ships to a storage location. Transport of CO2 is regularly applied and is technically possible. The development of transport networks that connect optimally all CO2 sources and sink will be complex and challenging.

CCS will only be widely deployed if there is a transport infrastructure between CO2 sources and suitable storage sites, and if the technology becomes economically viable.
